This book was created for NeuMedia, a non profit organization that wants to promote political action and media awareness in a younger market. Its important to show the youth and others that supporting a cause is important and getting involved isn’t as hard as most people think. There were a few things I considered when starting this project. First and foremost my main purpose was to quickly inform people on what the problem is and what they can do to if they care. Second was to be somewhat entertaining about it, because I feel that people think current events aren’t able to be fun. My final goal was to visually combine the first two through imagery. What I came up with is hopefully a little edgy, thought provoking, and will get people talking and doing things for themselves, their country, and their community.

What AIGA approached me about doing a poster for a lecture about sites that are designed to advertise by word of mouth and participation, my rationale was simple one. Design something based on what you see in every blog, Facebook post, and anonymous posting you’ve ever seen on the internet.  We have all been there and experienced something like this. Every Facebook group is targeted advertising essentially, people just don’t know it.

What I came up with were basic talk bubbles that denote emotions. There are usually four things you see on a regular basis. People being positive, negative, exclamatory, or inquisitive. The final icon is based around what designers, marketers, and others do to shift the focus and people in their favor. It’s the x-factor, or the asterisk by which we are able to set the tone and be the catalyst for selling an idea, product, and so on.

Advances Sports Inc, located in Suburban Philadelphia, came to me to do advertising. The project required me to use and update various brand elements for their Kestrel line of performance bicycles.  I was also assigned to highlight  the use of their state of the art technology by which these bikes are made.

In this project I managed and developed their assigned branding, copy, and overall creative direction of the campaign along with different size and brand variations.

These posters were designed for Philadelphia concert venue, the Trocadero Theatre. With each artist in mind I created a certain design aesthetic which could adhere to the style of artist and the venue which it would be played in. I did each in a distinct style, yet it still stands up well in structure, appropriate in type, and visually distinct. I think this typifies how I work. I am flexible with style, free with ideas, and can still give it the proper structure that helps communicate to all people.

Baseball can be a complicated sport. With its own culture, nuances and history it is very much steeped in tradition and numbers like no other sport. With that comes multiple variants which aren’t synonymous with each team, stadium, and pitch count. What I wanted to develop is something that keeps it simple and gives people a good amount of information without being too convoluted. What I touched upon are things that casual and more passionate fans both have an interest in knowing. Each individual team has a good amount of information intelligently placed in each section. Everything from the division they play in, stadium dimensions, year established, championships, and an over head view among other things in this graphic. The bottom right quadrant is placed with more simple graphics and terms which has a quick rundown of various terms and situations in the game which would happen in any course of the game.
